Figure I’d kick things off with something I’ve been wanting to try, the first of many Monthly General Favorites Chapter Song Roundups! Well… Monthly Chapter Roundups, for short. That last one is kind of a mouthful.

This month’s roundup is for Chapter 17-2, covering all of February 2026. Let’s get down to business!

I’ve eyeballed Ultraspank for years at this point, but until now I never really found a song of theirs that clicked with me so well…. See what I did there? Ah, shitty jokes aside, Ultraspank’s frontman Pete Murray is the voice of Lo-Pro, a band I absolutely bloody adore. I mean, Texas by Lo-Pro is in my top 3 most listened to songs ever, and that similar vocal range alone lets me take in Ultraspank’s music from a bit of a different angle. Just the fact that Pete Murray was the single wasn’t enough to carry any Ultraspank song into my Spotify Liked Songs, but in particular the way the drums are and how this sets the pace of basically the entire song made this an easy save. It only got more catchy from there. Bridge leaves a bit to be desired but hey, it’s growing on me still. Over 100 plays and I don’t see that number coming to a slowdown anytime soon.
